The Project

AREA were the landscape architects for the design team lead by architects Haverstock for the extension of the Wimbledon Primary School in the London Borough of Merton. Our proposal for the new play area at Wimbledon Primary School seek to integrate the landscape and play space with the architect’s extension project, enhancing the appearance of the school itself and its external areas.

This project has involved key aspects such as increasing the capacity in the exterior areas to accommodate an additional form of entry to the school, re-organising the playground spaces to provide improved amenities for all the pupils, create a stimulating environment for play an learning by focusing on the reception playground, create clear circulation routes and, where possible, re-use existing play equipment.
