The Project
The residential courtyard has been configured to provide a relaxed and versatile space for enjoyment of residents.
A raised lawn area provides a central focus, edged in brick and defined on its eastern edge by a mixed bed of perennial vegetation and trees. Adjacent to the lawn we have created an area of rubber safety surface with low key equipment for balancing, spinning and clambering, creating, in combination with the lawn, a range of play opportunities for young children.
At the north end of the courtyard is a cluster of trees and a discreet area for quiet sitting amongst the green scene. The trees provide a dynamic visual backdrop to the space whilst help to protect the privacy of residents on the opposing side of the courtyard. Each dwelling at podium level has its own private amenity space with an individual entrance into the communal space which remains accessible to all.
