COPPERAS REACH HOUSE.

Harkstead, Suffolk

Masterplan

AREA was appointed in July 2016 to appraise the likely landscape and visual effects that would result from replacing the existing bungalow at Copperas Reach, Harkstead. The design of the replacement dwelling is consciously contemporary but it strives to be recessive within its landscape backdrop.

In view of this, AREA proposed a landscape design where native planting is proposed to bolster the existing planting along the site boundaries to the east, north and south helping to define and contain the residential land use and help screen the new house from sensitive viewpoints, yet allow view out over the river for the residents. The design included the layout of a tennis court, a lawn area and an entry-drive.
